Paramedic

A paramedic is a highly trained healthcare professional that works in emergency medical situations. Paramedics provide advanced levels of care for medical emergencies and trauma. The majority of paramedics work for public and private emergency medical service ambulances, emergency response vehicles, fire departments or in specialized mobile intensive care units. Some paramedics may undertake hospital-based roles, such as hospital Intensive Care Units, Critical Care Units and Emergency departments.

Our programs meet or exceed the standards set forth by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP).

Our EMS programs include clinical and field internship components that provide students with hands-on experience in hospital settings and emergency response environments. Students must meet all prerequisites, including:

  • Competency Demonstration in Essential Skills

Training methodologies include group discussions, practical demonstrations, interactive role-playing, audio-visual instruction, and live clinical practice. Students are expected to actively engage in their learning process and complete all coursework and hands-on requirements.
